ACFOA is committed to the pursuit of good governance as part of an integrated and effective aid program. This is based on an understanding of good governance as enabling a country to be managed in a way that is transparent, accountable, equitable, sustainable and responsive to people's needs. In the context of international aid and development programs, investments in good governance activities need to be focused on building the capabilities of the state at various levels to promote poverty reduction. Good governance is a essential element in achieving a sustainable poverty reduction goal.
